A recent event in my life of a couple made me ponder some issues we as men have and need to first admit and then fix. Mate being either your wife or Girlfriend. Selflessness in the dictionary is defines as "without a thought for one's self. So men we need to ask ourselves in my relationship's with women wether there friends or companions do I practice this act of selflessness. What do i mean? Well, First and foremost we need to realize having respect for a women is the only way they will respect us. I believe one of the most awesome feelings in this world is the respect and trust of the women in our life. It's something we can be proud of because that's one thing no matter what women give us freely, is something earned not given. I believe in trusting someone until they give you a reason not to but respect comes in the form of how they view our fruits. If we are living everyday as a man of integrity and value, and when we do slip and fail how we deal with the failure. I'm not saying we can't have faults but it's how you learn and deal with them that shows the greatest strength from our greatest weaknesses. Here's a couple of examples of things I found in failed relationship's and why they failed that might be something you do or did and havent got under control.
Famous Saying's:
I might be on a diet but it doesnt mean I can't look at the menu.
I know she will understand, she loves me
She's done worse!!!!
These are a couple of the vast excuses we give to the people around us or ourselves when we decide to do selfish acts. So when do the excuses stop? Usually after the relationship is over and we go on to our next serial dater.
A couple more things we do that no one can see but wether we see it or not they affect our relationship through the mind set they put us in.
Daydream about other women.
Admiring a cute girl as they pass by and say "wow wish I had that"
Not calling them back or making that 30 seconds to say " hey I'm real busy but I want you to know I'm thinking about you. Guys we live in the greatest technology era. Even text messages work. And if we can check our myspace 15 times a day then we can do that.
Guy time becomes bash about the girl your with and laugh about it. Sentence that start off as " I hate this about her" "You think thats bad listen to what she does" ... what we don't think about is that gives the friends ands peers around you the disrespect for her. She never had a fighting chance because you have already thrown her to the sharks before she met them. Dont get me wrong this goes for girls too... the biggest relationship killer is the things people talk about that you have said or they took the wrong way. Go's back to that saying if you have nothing good to say don't say anything at all.
So this wasn't a bash on Guys blog... I know I have struggled in these areas at one time or another and these are just things I have had to overcome. Alot of these are so natural because we choose to ignore them or we have had poor examples of how a man should treat a women that we don't even realize we do it. I am very fortunate to have had parents that showed me everyday how to treat the love of your life and the women around you with love and respect, and I have taken that for granted many times. Overall know god put women on this earth for companionship and as a gift ... but that doesn't mean they have to follow you werever you go, they can support you more when there right next to you hand in hand taken everything as one. Sometimes in your greatest weaknesses they will be in front of you pulling us back up. So ask god to help you with this and direct you into the path you need to follow for your life and the woman your supposed to be with. Hope this helps I'm done venting now.
