I never realized how precious life is until this morning. Now mind you, I have encountered a near death experience before back in 2004 after having my youngest son and 3 weeks later was hours away from death when I was rushed to the hospital with a blood clot in my lung. Thankfully God spared me that time and I cherish my children more because of that experience. But nothing could have prepared me for this morning. It's December and of course weather is nasty here in NY. I had a doctors appt at 8am this morning and the drive normally takes me an hour. After seeing we were having freezing rain over night I decided to leave an hour earlier to make sure I arrived safely. I was fine after getting my early morning cup of coffee. I'm driving on the highway going with traffic at about 55 MPH. The roads were slick in some areas and slushy all over so I'm driving with precautions. I was on a 3 lane highway. I was in the far left lane and an 18 wheeler was in the far right lane. Out of nowhere, I lose control of my SUV and with no warning I am spinning doing a 360 across the other two lanes. The car behind me saw me and thankfully stopped. The 18 wheeler saw me as well and all I saw as my car spun was this 18 wheeler's tire in front of me...I said my prayers quickly and saw my life flash before my eyes. My first instinct was to step on my brake as I grabbed the steering wheel hard. I closed my eyes and prepared for the worst. My car stopped spinning and immediately shut off. I peered through my eyes and all I saw was the headlights of the 18 wheeler inches away from me. I expected glass to be everywhere and blood...but thankfully...it was NOT my time to go as I did not have impact with ANYTHING!!
This is a true story of what happened to me this morning...Christmas Eve 2008. I just wanted to share this to remind everyone that LIFE is so important and precious and it all can be taken from you in a moments notice, so PLEASE enjy every moment you have with everyone in your life and go after your dreams. Don't just go after them by planning...but go after them by CHASING them...I love you all and have a great happy SAFE holiday season!!
