Sometimes you never know how lucky you are until reality slaps you in the face. If you are reading this you probably know about what I have been through the past few months with death, and you know Dave is away with his job. He has been in CA fighting the fires making a difference in the world. He was sent away for two weeks and I have not had any contact with him and it has been hard. He got back in CA today and asked me if I heard about the helicopter that went down last wednesday in CA and that nine of the firefighters were killed. I told him I was so thankful he was out of CA when that happened. He told me that was part of his team that was on there, and if he would have been in CA he would have been with them. My heart just stopped. I told him everything happens for a reason. My friend at work said someone "up there" is looking out for him and I just smiled and said Yeah, my dad. He knew when he left this world that he did not have to worry about me anymore, that I finally found someone who was good for me.
My message in all this is never take anything for granted, in a blink of an eye it can all be gone, there are nine greiving families in CA that know this to be true.
Live life passionately, love unconditionally, dance like no one is watching and never go to bed angry.
