In This writing I will try to focus on the thoughts and feelings provoked by those who are single moms. As a child, I remember the struggles of my own mother, her nights alone, and her tears, many of which were put there by us unknowingly. I have met many wonderful people who I consider my friends though this medium. Many are or have been single mothers. For you I have the most respect. Your challenges are many and the only rewards you may see are in the eyes of your children. My heart goes out to all of you. So in an effort to touch you and let you know that you are not placed here upon this earth to only struggle, I reach out to you. You are the true angels of this world and you show us here on earth a little piece of heaven. My hands reach out to my keys tonight as I write.................
Life In A Prayer
Hands come together
On bended knee
Fingers couple
Knuckles almost white
The pressures of today come together
With unspoken words
To a higher power
"I know it is not mine to question
I seek the answer
I may know already
My purpose, my life
You have placed me on this earth
To struggle"
Awakened by a gentle tug
On PJs
A look to mommy
Now I lay me
Down to sleep
A tear rolls now
down her cheek
Struggles continue
She see herself in a little being
Next to her
Alone in her bed
Pillows abound
To keep her company
Her pillow
The struggles continue
A different kind
The struggle of being alone
in the dark
After daylight gives way
To night
If she could only see
What little ones see
And those around her
They rejoice in the soul that she is
Yet she struggles
The mirror doesn’t show
The answer to her life
Her prayer
She struggles once more
And lives her life
