I'm constantly letting my kids down..
It's starting to wear on me something fiercely..
I was in such a rush with getting this car inspected, that I had missed a very important part....
Where the rear axle is located, and connected to the frame of the car, there was a rust hole...
Not a large one, but bad enough. I have just come back from picking the car up. There is no fix for this damage. People will say to weld it, but in NY, welding of the frame will not pass either...
I also had gotten 4 tickets in the past 2 weeks for this car, which I have to go to court for on Wednesday... All damn "fix-it" tickets, but still... money..that i don't really have, being a single dad of two kids...
I put 60 into it for new lights in the back, and several hours worth of work myself.... but I could only get 50 bucks from the junkyard for it... He's going to turn around and sell that beautifully running engine for 800...It's not fair, but nobody will give more then that for a car around here...
I still have my truck, but I am still working on the harness. Had the car, so I put off the truck due to the weather. I hate working in below freezing temps with metal tools and cars, in the snow..but, the truck's looking more and more, "iffy" right now...
That's not the worst of it... My kids depended on that car... Court forced me to move to this town.. There's no parts store, no food stores, just 3 gas stations and "Welfare Central" on the hill... Nearest store or doctor's office is 20 miles away...What if the kids got hurt, you know?
I was without a vehicle when my son flipped his bike and broke his arm in two places. I had gotten very lucky then. Mom happened to be in this town at a meeting, and I had someone go over to tell her.
Before somebody says "phone, you retard", I cannot hear on one, and using the net is slow as all hell if no one's by the other computer..
Seems like the more I try, the more I'm failing my kids and myself...
