What are you waiting for?

Ok first, let it be known that this blog is about the actions of certain women, not all.  And it isn't directed to a specific woman.  With that disclaimer, riddle me this.

Ever see profiles of women who post suggestive or nude pictures of themselves and then add "I'm married/have a boyfriend so don't ask me if I want to hook up"? You get the general idea.  They post these pictures and then proceed to tell the men who are looking at her posing half naked (or completely) they aren't allowed to hit on her or have her. And then they will also proceed to complain that they are getting "scumbags" writing them.  The common argument is these pictures are "art".  And yes she may intend for the pictures to be art.  But intent and interpretation aren't the same thing.  One mans art is another mans porn.  Further more if you're married or have a boyfriend, then the following question deserves to be asked.  If your heart belongs to your man, doesn't the rest of you come along with that?

Then there is the air of "false advertising."  You post pictures that are of a suggestive nature or even nude, knowing that these pictures are going to appeal to a man's hormones, and then chastise him for responding as such?  If you aren't going to give it to the guy, or he isn't allowed to have it, then don't advertise it.  Look at it like this, you go into Mc Whatevers and they are advertising a burger, yet you aren't allowed to have it.  What purpose does it serve to advertise the goods if they aren't available?

As for the art/porn debate.  If I pull out a picture of a naked woman from Hustler, it's porn.  Yet if I pull out another picture of a naked woman, it's art.  Women, do you honestly think a guy who buys magazines of naked women won't see your pictures on your profiles (fUBAR or any site for that matter) and have the same thoughts as he does when he is going through the magazines?  How honest with yourself are you being?  One is marketed as "porn".  The other as "art."  To the majority of the worlds' male populous, a naked woman is a naked woman.  They will see no difference between the picture of you partially or fully unclothed, and the porn star posing in a magazine.

In closing, let me leave you with this.

If you are willing to deal with the fact that your "artful" pictures will not always be perceived as art, and to deal with all that curtails, then more power to you. But if for example, a white man decides to run through Harlem, screaming the N word and is adult enough to accept that there may be negative responses to his actions, then go for it.  But if not, he shouldn't complain that he got shot.  Personal accountability can only be passed off for so long.
