LEARNING & GROWING
In this life we all are constantly learning
Each day brings new and exciting things
They may not always be happy things
Some will be bad and hard to understand
But if we take them and learn then our lives will be better
As I take at look at myself
What do I see?
I am not the same person I was a year ago
I’ve grown
I’ve found myself
And guess what I am still learning
This will never stop
As I look at the talks and discussions I have
I find that they are a way in which I am searching for answers
To understand myself and others
I think if the questions and if the doubt stop
Then the growing will
And one becomes stuck in one thing
Never able to see pass the tip of their nose
Will never see the beauty in the world
Will not see those around them as they are
For judgments and such will have been made
Not on facts or on who that person is
But on perceived ideas
Ones that have not been challenged
Let’s say growing up we are taught this is wrong
To love another woman (or if man another man)
To be with them
It is beaten into our brains
So what we do
We never question it
And if we did
We feel quilt
But as we get older
And start to wonder
Then questions come out
We search for answers
We learn
Even if it is not for you
One begins to understand and accept
That is not wrong
That this is who some one is
And to judge them is not our place
And who knows
One can find a true friend
For you see pass the cover
And see the person
I think that after talking to others
I found that many have questions
And they have doubts about them selves
This is good
For one wants to learn
They want to understand
Try to tell them …don’t be hard on yourself
Take each day as it comes
I think you will be surprised
At what you find
For you will see
That life is more than just words and feelings
It is a whole experience
One you will feel in your mind, heart and soul
And when all come together
There is a peace
This is what we all thrive for the inner peace
Sometimes we find it
And we cherish it
For it can go away
And then we search for it again
And each time we achieve it
It stays longer
Why we lose it
Because life does not stand still
We are always moving forward
Things happen people enter our life
They bring new experiences
Ones that might change our thinking
So then we learn and understand
We grow a little more
Was talking to a friend the other day
There is lot going on within her life
And she is having a bad time of it
But what I admire is that she is not giving up
She is taking each day as it comes
Looking ahead dealing with each obstacle in her way
Realizing that all that is happening
Is making her a stronger person
Taking the bad… turning it into good
She is learning each and every day
And teaching those around her too
And isn’t that the point
Taking what we know and do
Using it and sharing it
We learn not only by going through the experience
But also watching others and what they do
The day that we think that we know it all
Or the day we feel that what is the use
Is probably the day that we die
Maybe not in the physical sense
But inside our hearts, our mind and soul
For then we are not open to the world
We do not see the people and things around us
It is like we go through life with blinders on
And that is a pity
For there is so much more out there
If one just takes the time to see
