Many of my friends are either in retail or some sort of customer service job/career. Having been there myself customer service as an electrician and retail as an assistant manager at a shoe store, we know that people can be mean and rude, but also nice and accommodating.
There are always ignorant people or stupid people in the world, we can't help that but it is understandable.
What really gets to me are the people who, for the most part, are intelligent and knowledgeable, but when things don't go their way or they don't get their way they resort to Neanderthal behavior, and intentionally, either consciously or subconsciously, act ignorant or stupid or both.
Do they really think that this demeanor is intimidating to one, such as ourselves who could rgara about their tantrums, because there are other people to serve and we will but them in the folder of irrelevance once the time clock has been punched and we have that calming down drink.
I love to watch people, people are fascinating, especially when they don't know they are being watched. Confrontational people, that try intimidation by being verbally abusive or crowding your personal space need to get a lesson from Miss Manners, for the old saying is true, you catch more bees with honey.
Are you not more likely to be accommodating, helpful and go that extra mile for people who are nice and treat you like a person with respect? or for those that are mean and vicious and treat you like a dog?
Just my two cents for the day after a long day at work.
