They have walked many miles
seen many tragedies watchedtheir
buddies die in front of them,
even held them close till
they took their last breath.
They will never forget the horror
the pain.
We feel helpless cause there's nothing
we can do to stop the pain.
We keep them close, say a prayer
for them, but it doesn't stop
the pain, or the tears from falling.
They have seen more then we have
seen in a lifetime,
but we continue to pray
we continue to hold them close,
and believe it or not that helps
them more then anything,
just knowing someone cares
and supports them.
That's all they need to keep
them going.
So never stop supporting them
never stop caring.
Keep that flag flying high
and never frget what they are
fighting for.
