friendship oath

Friendship Oath When you are sad, I will get you drunk and help you plot revenge against the jerk who made you sad. When you are scared, I will laugh at you and tease you about it every chance I get. When you are worried, I will tell you how much worse it could be and to quit complaining. When you are confused, I will use little words to explain it to your dumb ass. And when you are lost, I will answer my cell phone and give you directions. When you are sick, I will hold your hair while you pay homage to the porcelain god. When you fall, I will point and laugh at your clumsy ass. This is my oath, I pledge till the end. Why you may ask? Because you're my friend.

two types of friends

Two Types of Friends -- Real & Simple A simple friend has never seen you cry. A real friend has shoulders soggy from your tears. A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first names. A real friend has their phone numbers in his address book. A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your party. A real friend comes early to help you cook and clean. A simple friend hates it when you call after he has gone to bed. A real friend asks you why you took so long to call. A simple friend seeks to talk with you about their problems. A real friend seeks to help you with your problems. A simple friend wonders about your romantic history. A real friend could blackmail you with it. A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest. A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself. A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when you have an argument. A real friend knows that it's not a friendship until after you've had a fight. A simple friend expects you to always be there for them. A real friend expects to always be there for you!
Most Important Part of the Body My mother used to ask me what is the most important part of the body. Through the years I would take a guess at what I thought was the correct answer. When I was younger, I thought sound was very important to us as humans, so I said, "My ears, Mommy." She said, "No. Many people are deaf. But you keep thinking about it and I will ask you again soon." Several years passed before she asked me again. Since making my first attempt, I had contemplated the correct answer. So this time I told her, "Mommy, sight is very important to everybody, so it must be our eyes." She looked at me and told me, "You are learning fast, but the answer is not correct because there are many people who are blind." Stumped again, I continued my quest for knowledge and over the years, Mother asked me a couple more times and always her answer was, "No. But you are getting smarter every year, my child." Then last year, my grandpa died. Everybody was hurt. Everybody was crying. Even my father cried. I remember that especially because it was only the second time I saw him cry. My Mom looked at me when it was our turn to say our final goodbye to Grandpa. She asked me, "Do you know the most important body part yet, my dear?" I was shocked when she asked me this now. I always thought this was a game between her and me. She saw the confusion on my face and told me, "This question is very important. It shows that you have really lived in our life. For every body part you gave me in the past, I have told you were wrong and I have given you an example why. But today is the day you need to learn this important lesson." She looked down at me as only a mother can. I saw her eyes well up with tears. She said, "My dear, the most important body part is your shoulder." I asked, "Is it because it holds up my head?" She replied, "No, it is because it can hold the head of a friend or a loved one when they cry. Everybody needs a shoulder to cry on sometime in life, my dear. I only hope that you have enough love and friends that you will always have a shoulder to cry on when you need it." Then and there I knew the most important body part is not a selfish one . It is sympathetic to the pain of others. People will forget what you said. People will forget what you did. But people will NEVER forget how you made them feel.

love

The one who loves you will not make you cry alone at night thinking about him/her. They will be right beside you telling you it will be alright. My life has taught me one vital thing and that is: I came into this world alone. I shall leave it alone. And, if I have to live in it alone, so be it! I contend to live it in peace with myself. You cannot change anybody but yourself so don't try to change your partner . Love him/her as he/she is. You'll get better results. Love is action; not just a feeling. A real man doesn't make love to a million women. A real man makes love to one women a million ways. Immature love says "i love you because I need you". Mature love says "I need you because I love you". The way to love anything, is to realize it can be lost. If you want to be successful in life, be a wise. If you want to be successful in love, be foolish. Some people are like crystal. Pretty to look at, but you can see right through them. I love you not because of who you are, but because of who I am when I am with you. No man or woman is worth your tears, and the one who is, won't make you cry. The worst way to miss someone is to be sitting right beside them knowing you can't have them. Never frown, even when you are sad, because you never know who is falling in love with your smile. To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world. Don't waste your time on a man/woman, who isn't willing to waste their time on you. They say forgive and forget, but if someone is worth forgiving then you'll never forget them.

Dishonesty

No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar. ~Abraham Lincoln A half truth is a whole lie. Those who think it is permissible to tell white lies soon grow color-blind. With lies you may get ahead in the world - but you can never go back. Honesty is the rarest wealth anyone can possess, and yet all the honesty in the world ain't lawful tender for a loaf of bread. The hardest tumble a man can make is to fall over his own bluff. A lie has speed, but truth has endurance. When you stretch the truth, watch out for the snapback. A lie may take care of the present, but it has no future. Truth fears no questions. Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom. Pretty much all the honest truth telling in the world is done by children. The truth brings with it a great measure of absolution, always. Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. Respect for the truth is an acquired taste. It is not without good reason said, that he who has not a good memory should never take upon him the trade of lying. When truth is divided, errors multiply. Truth is such a rare thing, it is delightful to tell it. Honesty pays, but it don't seem to pay enough to suit some people. The cruelest lies are often told in silence. A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.

awareness is a good thing

Awareness is a good thing.... I saw you, hug your purse closer to you in the grocery store line. But, you didn't see me, put an extra $10.00 in the collection plate last Sunday. I saw you, pull your child closer when we passed each other on the sidewalk. But, you didn't see me, playing Santa at the local mall. I saw you, change your mind about going into the restaurant. But, you didn't see me, attending a meeting to raise more money for the hurricane relief. I saw you, roll up your window and shake your head when I rode by. But, you didn't see me, riding behind you when you flicked your cigarette butt out the car window. I saw you, frown at me when I smiled at your children. But, you didn't see me, when I took time off from work to run toys to the homeless. I saw you, stare at my long hair. But, you didn't see me, and my friends cut ten inches off for Locks of Love. I saw you, roll your eyes at our leather coats and gloves. But, you didn't see me, and my brothers donate our old coats and gloves to those that had none. I saw you, look in fright at my tattoos. But, you didn't see me, cry as my children were born and have their name written over and in my heart. I saw you, change lanes while rushing off to go somewhere. But, you didn't see me, going home to be with my family. I saw you, complain about how loud and noisy our bikes can be. But, you didn't see me, when you were changing the CD and drifted into my lane. I saw you, yelling at your kids in the car. But, you didn't see me, pat my child's hands, knowing he was safe behind me. I saw you, reading the newspaper or map as you drove down the road. But, you didn't see me, squeeze my wife's leg when she told me to take the next turn. I saw you, race down the road in the rain. But, you didn't see me, get soaked to the skin so my son could have the car to go on his date. I saw you, run the yellow light just to save a few minutes of time. But, you didn't see me, trying to turn right. I saw you, cut me off because you needed to be in the lane I was in. But, you didn't see me, leave the road. I saw you, waiting impatiently for my friends to pass. But, you didn't see me. I wasn't there. I saw you, go home to your family. But, you didn't see me. Because, I died that day you cut me off. I was just a biker,..... A person with friends and a family. But, you didn't see me. MAY IS MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH. THIS IS FOR MY FRIENDS WHO RIDE OR WHO MAY HAVE DIED WHILE RIDING

Time is Precious!

Time is Precious! Time is precious... perhaps our most valuable commodity.... think about THESE when you're wasting some... Ask a divorced couple or a prisoner about the value of a decade. Ask two recently split high school sweethearts about the value of four years. Ask a student who failed his final exam about the value of one year. Ask the mother of a stillborn the value of nine months. Ask the mother of a preemie the value of one month. Ask the editor of a weekly paper the value of one week. Ask two lovers waiting to meet the value of one hour. Ask the person who missed the train the value of one minute. Ask an accident survivor the value of one second. Ask a losing Olympic medalist the value of one millisecond.

Love

Love As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love. So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back. Don't be afraid that your life will end, be afraid that it will never begin.

the courage to live

All the pressures of life, You want to curl up inside, but when life gets scary, you can't run off and hide, you've got to stand strong, do what you know is right, it doesn't matter if you lose, if you had the strength to fight, sometimes it gets hard, and there's nothing left to give, it's times like that, you need the courage to live, hold on to your hope, remember you're not alone, others before you, made it through the unknown, and if you go down, go down with your pride, then always and forever, I'll stand by your side
