I remember the words as I dreamed of a life away from your control
I remember the look in your eyes that said "I can't handle you, miss problem child."
Too many cracks.
Too many scars.
As they led me away to the world where the hands of time seemed to slow and die
And then I arrived.
And I was broken
Confused
Everything taken from me
And no one by my side
And no one looked me in the eye
How do you comfort the abandoned...
Tossed to the trash like the day old news
I was the unwanted
And you tried to explain it
Like you knew.
