HOW IS THIS FAIR...

How is this fair…..I reside in a small town in central California…Along with two partners all 3 of us being non profits trying to help others we purchased a large beautiful home with the intention of helping others that can’t afford the high rents of today…We have applied to our city to open this home as a boarding house which is well needed in this county as we have families living in the dry river bed that runs through our town…We followed the compliance set forth by the city and have done all that has been ask of us…We were even given a set of compliance rules which we have and our willing to except even though some of the rules do not pertain to a boarding house we were and are still willing to do all that is required by our city officials. . We have paid all the necessary dues required by the city ..We were ask to add another flight of stairs to the house and even told we needed to add an elevator which we really think is unnecessary but have already had the drafts drawn up as ask again by the city and would have had all this done had The City just gave us our c.u.p… We finally make it to the city planning commissioners meeting and we are all excited because we have done all ask and have been led to believe that all was well and then comes the big bang…Somewhere in the meeting our boardinghouse got labeled as us trying to open a halfway house which is far from what we applied to do and far from the truth…Our main objector being a bar that states he has cleaned up our neighborhood and that we would be bring back the bad…How is helping others to live in a clean house with a bed and a shower hurting anyone…Some of the question ask of us did not pertain to a boardinghouse at all…We were ask about a clinician and told we could not have a boarding house without one and this is not true…We were ask about meals which is also not required but may be available at a later time as we again meet the requirements of the city…We even had one of the board members state we had met all the requirements for a boarding house which in return came the voice of another board member saying not to my standers so I don’t care what it says…We had been previously warned this might happen because not wanting to name the person here as to not cause them any grieve or problems but they were present at the golf course when some of the city employees were discussing my boarding house not aware the person was known to us…They had already labeled it a halfway house…We also found it quite disturbing when one of the city planning commissioners nodded at one of the opposing parties being the owner of a bar and then took him in the back room prior to the meeting and then again during the meeting he winked at him and smiled…

All we are asking to do here is what our father in heaven would want in times such as now and that is to help others in need of a place to sleep and clean themselves up so they can go out and do an interview and stand a chance to get back on there own as time allows them…We have been given a treasure in the form of a very large beautiful home and all we wish to do is share this treasure with the people of this town that cannot afford for whatever reason the cost of rent living on there own…If you ask me even a bed in a shared room is better then no bed at all. And to be able to shower so as not to be smelled and judged before we even enter an interview could make a world of difference to a person living on the streets…We were told our home is to beautiful to house these people in…What could this mean? How is any house to beautiful for our fellow citizens…

We are not rich and have invested all we have into this and our now being ask for even more money to appeal…and given 15 days to appeal…

Again how is this fair…we have done everything ask and even that is not good enough…

A boarding house, is a

house (often a family home) in which lodgers rent one or more rooms for one or more nights, and sometimes for extended periods of weeks, months and years. The common parts of the house are maintained, and some services, such as laundry and cleaning, may be supplied. They normally provide "bed and board", that is, at least some meals as well as accommodation. A "lodging house", also known in the United States

) as a "rooming house", may or may not offer meals. Lodgers legally only obtain a license to use their rooms, and not exclusive possession, so the landlord retains the right of access.

, of which the landlady Mrs. Hudson provided some domestic service.

breakfast and dining facilities; in recent years it has become common for each room to have its own washing and toilet facilities. Such boarding houses were often found in English seaside towns (for holidaymakers) and college towns

(for students). It was not unusual for there to be one or two elderly long-term residents.

United Kingdom

, boarding houses were typically run by landladies, some of whom maintained draconian authority in their houses: the residents might not be allowed to remain on the premises during the daytime and could be subject to rigorous rules and regulations, stridently enforced.

All responses to this will be greatly appreciated… I need your opinions !!!!

Please help me to get this home open to Gods Children and help get them off the streets and out of the river beds…
