As most you you have probably heard the events that happened over the night where my husband works has left us all saddened. At 9:30 last night Deputy Tony Diaz ( my husbands beat partner) responded to a DUI call. after a short chase the call ultimately ended with the suspect shooting Deputy Diaz in the shoulder. Deputy Diaz Died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
If your thinking HOW could he have died from a shot to the shoulder. It severed his artery. Coroner said he wouldnt have made no matter what. he bled out. My husband spent his night on post in the pariemeter of the incident. We just found out this afternoon. My husband stood ALL night just 15 feet from where this POS person was hiding.
Right now John is doing alot of what ifs. feeling like its his fault for not going to dunnigan with Diaz and choosing to go to knights Landing instead to see what he could find. WELL i have to say that I AM SO THANK FUL that John didnt go to Dunnigan. if he had My husband would be DEAD as well. I know all the details of what happened last night.. I cant say anything to anyone. But lets just say that this POS person never gave Deputy Diaz a fighting chance.
Im so glad this scum is caught. I can rest alittle easier now that he is in Jail and cant hurt another person. IM trying to cope the best i can right now. We have been crying most of the day. John is flipping back and forth on emotions.. He has been very snappy at me. I understand. He is trying to get his emotions and his anger etc out. Its just hard. I dont know what the next few days or week holds for My husband. all i know is that now i have to pull myself together and be there for him. He is normally my rock.. now i have to be his.
The department put John, Deputy Bautista and Deputy Pinada all on Admin leave for the rest of the week. They are the three Deputies that arrived on scene first talked to Diaz and were the last to see him alive. They are the 3 suffering the most. Especially John and Bautista. Bautista was the first to watch the Camera from Diaz's car. John is Diaz's partner everynight on shift. they are always within 3miles of eachother. Until last night.
GOD my heart goes out to Deputy Diaz's 3 children. I dont know whats next the funeral should be coming up... I will update more later.. I have to try to get John to eat something... and I have to take some clothes to Johns moms for Olivia since she was nice enough to take her over night. Im also trying to hold back my emotions for Caylees sake. and take care of Atticus.
