One of the things I am most known for is when it comes to animals proving people are wrong about behavior and labeling breeds out of hype and speculation and roomers … In my long gone young 20's it was the White German Shepherd , I see my first one at a breeders house I went to the snow white coat and black nose and soft dark brown eyes.. I got researching the breed and found out they were shunted by most of the German Shepherd world . They were considered through backs and bucket pups at birth …why?… I found out in the circle of show dogs that breeders of these colored shepherds like to say god put the German Shepherd on the earth as a German Shepherd. Witch is bunk all dogs came from wild dogs …in knowing this they call white shepherds through backs ..also they say they carry hip problems and that they are born with pink eyes and no hearing because of there white coats . If so why did I see a intelligent animal with dark brown eyes and came when his name was called?
There after I got two wonderful white registered shepherds ..had may years of pups with wonderful temperaments and none of the things they stated wrong. For the next 20 years I put wonderful German Shepherds out there.. As all good things someone has to make things go wrong ..in making them popular .and with all things popular they were bred by other breeders who only did it for the money not the love of the bred . One of the other things I set out to prove is that wolf hybrids were not the vicious beasts they say they are. In between breeding German Shepherds and those 20 years I rescued wolf hybrids. All I see was animals that shouldn’t be bred in the first place because they were greatly miss understood by humans and things became very clear why man bred the dog far from the wolf. I retrained a lot of them and placed them in new homes .. And they gave me back a gift of being a better dog trainer in teaching me about pack order.
Today I in bark on a new adventure. it’s a bred of dog that has been band in a lot of states and have very bad marks the pit bull . I am one to admit I didn’t dislike the bred but didn’t pay it any special attain either. Until a family member moved home with 5 of these wonderful dogs. I see a bred that was short and heavy set and all muscle and intimidating in looks. But they dogs greeted me with waging tails and always wanting to give paw. This was bad news for my husband being six foot for there paws would hit him in his mid section and bend him over and put him to there benefit in being able to lick his face. Good for them not for him .
That gets me to today …I have a wonderful pups from those dogs and in every way so far people have said bad about them is just that all talk as far as I can see… any dog can bite a child… I am one to admit children with dogs being alone is bad … children can grab at dogs face and make them bites …all that aside over the years of me training dogs and running classes and dealing with the public there is just bad dog owners …you can make and model a dog the way you want it … as with a child you can love it show it the right way in life and make it a good k9 citizen or citizen or you can beat on it teach it to fight kill and have something that doesn’t fit into the world around it .
My Josie is only 3 mounts old but she is growing fast and is as smart as a whip…I will keep everyone posted on her progress. If she is a example of the pitbull breed then they are eager to please and wonderful dogs.. I am still working on my husband to see if I can train him to be as obedient but I think I need to go back to training school on that one ….lol
