Another week out of the way... progress has been slow but moving forward is always good! A friend of mine, Harvey aka Kegman, took me down in his truck to get all my stuff... and my car from Fort Smith, Arkansas... it's about an hour south of where I'm staying now... so now all my belongings are with me which is a big relief... first off, we had to push the car out of the garage it was in and then jumpstart... it had been sitting so long that the battery was dead... then as I backed out onto the street, I pushed the brake pedal down and it hit the floor... but the car wasn't slowing down... talk about an "Oh shit!" moment... LOL Thank heaven for the emergency brake! I got the car around to the front of the hose and checked the brake fluid... or where the brake fluid is supposed to be anyway... LMAO It was empty... so I filled it back up... and left the car running to charge the batter back up... I had one tire that was very low but not flat... we limped the car to a convenience store where I made it look like a tire again... now the car is not insured or tagged at the moment... so I ws driving illegally with barely any brakes and a tire I didn't if I could trust or not... and had to drive back north fo about an hour... luck was with us as Harvey stayed behind me trying to block the view of the back of my car from any possible state troopers... the car sits safely downstairs in the parking lot below me bedroom window... all in all, it worked out fine...
I've been unpacking stuff little by little and have come to realize that I had more stuff than I thought I did... can't wait to get my own place again so I can really unpack...
My next goal is to get my car tagged and insured... then to get the maintenance on it taken care of... then find another job... once I transferred up here with my job, they never put me on the schedule... GO ME! hahaha I'm also trying to get them to give me a good reason as to why they haven't paid me yet for the work I did do for them while I was down in Fort Smith... but I'm sure I will get that worked out in short time...
It actually feels nice to be back in Northwest Arkansas... although I have a good job possibility in Oklahoma City... I've got my fingers crossed that will work out... if not, there are jobs around here as well...
All in all... I feel this is all a positive change in my life and am just taking it one day at a time for now... of course, I don't taken more than one day at a time in my life anyway... is there a way to do that? LOL
