Belladonna's blog: "My Profile"

I feel that I need to make some things clear about my last blog. The story that was written was true, but some of the descriptive words were changed from the original words that I had said. I emailed Stephen Dark and told him how I felt about the story and this was his response.

I was saddened to read your thoughts. You can't invest two months of your life in a story and not have an emotional commitment to it.

I was promised 5,000 words, but the editor renegged and I got 4,000. I do a lot of interviews simply because I want to be certain that what I write is what I believe to be the truth, at least as I understand, as I perceive it.

My one regret is that an editor put the verb pout in place of my describing Aiden as being miserable while you were away from the business. I should have fought for my original description. For that, my apologies.

I wrote several distinct versions of the story. The first, which was very different in style, may go on our website, I'm not sure. I'll let you know if it does.

Because of your candor, your honesty, I strove to write, as gently as I could, a story that matched it. It went through three editors but I still believe the end result is a distillation of all I found. I received several calls from women readers saying how much they admired your strength and determination.

Again, I'm sorry the story was not to your liking. I truly hope things go well for the three of you. Perhaps you and Aiden can do an autobiographical film where your words tell the story, rather than others. Inevitably readers look to the writer to provide a guide, a perspective on a story. To say the piece catered to my opinion is accurate, but that's what journalism is. That said I tried very hard to give you and Aiden the space to talk about who you are and what you do.

I would like to stay in touch, to hear how you progress, continue to shape your life, but understand if you don't want to.

Now, after reading his reply, I feel that I should have waited to write my blog. I honestly didn't realize how much a writer has to go through to get his story out and also that editors can change things around. Stephen Dark has the right to his opinion as well and I should have known that his would probably be different than mine. In the future I will not be doing any stories that have this part of my life involved, but I do plan on writing an autobiography one day. I picked up some notebooks yesterday so that I can start keeping a journal, much deeper than this blog.

On lighter note, I will fill you in on what I've been up to over the weekend. I watched Lost on Friday night, but still have one more episode until I'm caught up. I really like waiting until I have three or four episodes downloaded to watch them, it just seems so much better that way. I get too anxious sometimes waiting for the next one. On Saturday, I had to take care of the plumbing problems at my rental property. I had a plumber take a look at the pipes and now I have two plumbers telling me that I will have to eventually replace all of the piping under the house and out to the main sewage line, possibly. It could cost around $5,000. I have one more plumber coming on Monday so that I can make sure it's legit. I really love this property. The first time I saw it I fell in love. It's very private and has green all around it. If any of you read in the past, you would know how much I love gardening and nature. Aiden and I are planning on tearing it down some day to rebuild a QUALITY home in it's place, but probably not for another five years from now. So we really don't want to put money into a sinking ship, if you know what I mean. I hope that by snaking it one more time will do the trick and make it last for a long time. Later that evening, We went to Target to get some random things we needed around the house and then had dinner at Il Tremizzino, an Italian cafe, nearby. By the way, they have the best pasta I have ever eaten in my entire life!! Penne Formaggio. YUMMMMMMM!!! Oh and for dessert, Tiramisu!!! Yum Yum YUM!

Sunday was all about being outside and doing yard work. I put up some more hummingbird feeders and sucked up all the dead leaves with my new bad ass Leaf Hog! You're damn right I can do it all on my own!! Aiden started the job, but he's like that kid on My Girl, the one who was allergic to pretty much EVERYTHING. So I finished his job for him! Aiden's really been working his ass off being Mr. fix-it lately, which by the way, turns me on like crazy!! I love it when a man can fix shit! He even did the dishes, made the bed, fixed the light switches and cleaned up for me. I am one lucky woman, that's for sure! Oh yeah, another thing I forgot to mention a few days ago... I received a letter in the mail. It was a court summons. I'm being called in for JURY DUTY! NO!!!! on April 16th! I was supposed to call in on the 13th to find out the time and everything else, but I forgot. I figure once they find out that I am a pornographer, they will refuse to have me on board. *crossing my fingers* Until next time...
