I got home last night, logged into this site to see it's name had been changed to CherryTap and quite frankly didn't blink. In my opinion the name is pretty wimpy compared to LostCherry, but it's not my website; I just have fun here.
Then I saw some people were not happy with the change and again it just rolled off my back. Again, a change of name is of little importance in the big scheme of things, but then I started reading.
One of my pet peeves is people who read what they want, or half of what's there, and make judgements. That's a very dangerous thing. As I read further I dicovered that the name LostCherry was scraped because some people thoght it sounded like a porn site. That's when my chin dropped, my heart sank, and I felt rather betrayed.
I remember once making my teenaged daughter change her shirt before going to school, because quite frankly she looked like a ho. If she didn't do so, I would have reprimanded her. Now, if she came home from school one day to change her shirt because someone said the name "bebe" sounded like something a ho would wear, not only would she have been reprimanded worse, but she would have had a whole wardrobe of bebe as soon as I had time to shop.
I don't go into someone's house and change channels on their TV. But even if they were watching my favorite show I would be sickened if they told me they were watching it because of what people would think if they watched something else.
It really doesn't matter what the site is called. What's important is what it's about.
