Peaceful discontentment I while away the day
No room for even resentment
To make the wild thoughts play.
A body full of sighing,
A face that's turned to stone
My will to move is dying
It’s easier to stay prone.
I wish and wish for laughter
That’s new and fresh, and real.
It seems forever after
That life has lost its zeal.
A moment doesn't lighten
The feelings of despair.
A joke will never brighten
A heart that does not care.
Oh, make my temper zesty
And bring my mind alive!
Stop me from getting testy,
Just give me the will to strive!
Give my wishes hope again.
Give me a will to live.
Make me strong, to withstand pain,
And give me the grace to give.
Deep within my soul,
I know all is never lost,
That life within will also grow,
This is just compost.
It helps the plant of life upsurge
When it has fed enough.
It fills you with an impending urge
Know that you are tough.
The sinews of your life renew,
Your muscles flex again;
Your eyes are rinsed to better view
The joy, as much as pain.
A fast of food does much improve
The Next meals humble flavor.
A fast of life does much to move
The Will to wish to savor.
Until my plant has fed enough
I must with patience bide
And await the day life calls my bluff!
Till then, I ride the tide
