Bubbles's blog: "Me"

I like to re-read people's profiles once in awhile. I was scanning Philemon's profile again when I noticed something I could relate to:

"I have a horrible sense of humor. Love black comedy, inappropriate humor, etc. I will laugh at the worst things at the worst time. Never take me to a sad movie."

Now, I have an overactive imagination. I can't help the points where it pops something into my head at the most inappropiate moment. I did feel bad for this story, but at the same time, it was the funniest thing to pop into my head that I couldn't control. Here's the story:

This past year, we got a call from my Uncle Kenny (not my blood uncle, but he's been my dad's best friend since high school). It was not a happy call. We learned that his father died and we were invited to the funeral. Now, I didn't know Uncle Kenny's father at all, but I felt the sadness flowing through my dad and mom that day. Funeral day came. I don't do well around sad people. With the personality I have, or at least what I believe my personality to be, I want to make people smile and be happy. So, to say I'm uncomfortable around sad people is an understatement. Anyway.. The part where they lower the casket into the ground came. This is where my imagination kicked into gear.

Have you seen the old movies where the bad guy dies and ends up being lowered into a hole into the ground, fog is everywhere, and lightning strikes? Yea.. exactly as Uncle Kenny's father was being lowered into the ground, THAT pops into my head. I had to stifle the laugh with a cover up sob and a little nose rubbing to cover the ridiculous smile on my face. My mom gave me a look and in a second I had recovered and I mouthed to her "later". When we got back to the car to go home, I told her what had happened. She lightly smacked me on the arm with a look that said you're ridiculous, but she had a small smile on her face that said it was kinda funny to her too.

Anyway, that's my random memory for the moment.
