Ok, so I was reading someones mumm where they said they were gonna go to a work party that they really didn't want to go to.
Now, I'm already dreading the Xmas party time here. I hate large groups of people. I can go for a pint with one or two no problem, but the idea of this organised work thing where I'll be expected to mingle with 30 + fellow employees just freaks me out. I have a very simple answer....I just wont show up. I'm pretty friendly with the top boss (known him for 6 years) so I'll have explained my story to him, but anyone else that expects me to be there will be sorely disappointed.
I'm like this with family do's too. For my sisters 21st (which was a big party at the house) I was sick and stayed in the kitchen all night to avoid everyone. I'm not expected at family weddings/christening/funerals anymore. Sometimes I'll show, sometimes I wont.
So when it comes to stuff like that, that you're expected to show up to but don't want to, do you show up or just blow it off? |
