IN QUIET SOLITUDE
___________________
In quiet solitude
I have found you there,
for your presence is everywhere.
For in all the mornings
I have known I have
never been alone.
In quiet solitude of the mountains
I have heard your voice,
and in a gentle wind
your sweet love came back
to me again.
In the caverns down below
I felt gentle breezes blow.
In quiet solitude of the desert
I never knew peace so grand,
and did not miss the presence of man.
My peace will ever increase,
and my love for the Lord
will never cease.
In quiet solitude of the rivers
I have found tranquility for all
of my days,
and I can live come what may.
By the rivers I have laid down,
and lulled off to sleep
by the gentle sound.
In quiet solitude in fields of beauty
I have meditated on your word,
and have seen clearly
that it is not obscure.
In fields of green
I have rejoiced and gave you thanks
for all the beautiful things
I have seen.
In quiet solitude of snowy streams
I walked along,
and saw a cloudy sky
that gave me reasons to ask why,
why could anyone doubt
your existence on this day?
For there is abundant evidence
in every way.
In quiet solitude I walked along
with a song in my heart,
and we will never drift apart.
