Hello Darklings.This blog will be more on a somber and stressed out note than usual.There has been much turmoil going on in my little dark world.Not quite sure where to start...hmm...
Let's start with my son.My son has had two major school issues in the last week.First he had his first real problem with peer pressure and something that he was told was going to be a joke turned into something more like theft.Lots of talks with his natural father,the school,other parents of involved children,SRO's, and his therapist.Just I thought the issue was dealt with he decides he wants to skip a class the other day.Sigh.... teenage boys are SUCH a handful.So now more talks with all these other people all over again.**the boy is only 14 after all**
My daughter on the other hand has ALOT more problems.After getting good news and taking her out of her ESE classes and putting her into Gen Ed classes more things cropped up.I may have to have her class schedule changed yet again due to her congenital scoliosis.(not sure what that is????go look it up or send me a message and ask me to explain)She's been in sooo much pain since her summer growth spurt with her father.She's had terrible torso muscle strain just from breathing.Her legs are now jumping into the act and swelling in her knees and shin muscles.Tuesday the 18th I take her in to see her surgen and get his opinion as to what is going on.According to the ER Dr her spine has gotten much worse and it's no longer a matter of IF she has to ahve surgery it is now a matter of WHEN.She has been such the trooper with all this.Although scared out of her poor mind..she is coping fairly well so far.She's 13...just really getting started with her own life...
I have not really slept much and keep worrying about what we are going to do.I too must wait until Tuesday to get the much needed answers.I try to comfort her as much as I can while still be totally honest with her about everything.She does have the right to know exactly what is going on,what may happen,etc... I mean we're talking possible home schooling, me possible going into semi-retirement, and more.
With the economy as bad as it is right now and Robby still being laid-off from work..the holidays seem to be becoming a bit darker and less spirited as I was hoping for.I get my children again this year for the Holidays but...I sit and wonder if my girl will be in a cast or hospital for them and wonder what homemade goodies I can possibly make for them that they might appreciate as gifts for the holidays as we will not have any funds for gifts for them this year.
I try not to let the world in too far when it comes to my home life...especially with my children.But this warrented an exception.I am a mother who is hurting and scared.Terrified of the answers I may or anticipate on getting.Although my daughter is on Medicaid...medicaid will only cover so much of the procedures and what not that my daughter is going to need.This also concerns me greatly as I would not be able to pay her medical bills and have no way of getting her to all her aftercare medical appointments and what not.
I will be posting another blog come Tuesday evening regarding the outcome of the dr's appointment.I ask that you send positive thoughts and energy our way.We could use all the help we can get.If you'd like to donate time or funds or anything else please contact me with a private message and we can talk.As I said, Tuesday will determine many things right now including the holidays and my career.I will give you all the answers or most of them Tuesday evening when I get word as to what's definately going on.
