Recently there has been a lot of talk on how immigrating people from Mexico has injured our economy. There is also a lot of talk about how to solve this matter. The president wants to put up a wall between Mexico and the US, but what is that going to solve. The proposed wall is not even a continuous wall, it only covers "high traffic" areas and only covers 700 miles. That is like putting a band aid on gushing wound. There was also talks of creating tasks forces to flush out illegals that are already here. Anyway you look at it its our tax dollars that are going to pay for something that probably will have little or no effect.
The plan I have is to build a base in Mexico, and not just any kind of base a basic training facility. The facility would allow qualified people to join the US military, By joining the military and fulfilling there requirements they are allowed US citizenship. With the decline in US basic training numbers this would also solve some of our own issues. How many of you are sick of the same soldiers being deployed 2-3 time in a row just because there are no skilled soldiers to take their places. The base in Mexico would also hire civilians to help with day to day operations ie. cooking, uniform making, and construction.
Even though there will be a lot of new Americans thousands of the local people wont leave Mexico to come to the US expecially If we bring the US to them. The base could be the answer to a lot of our problems by allowing the people there to have the resourses to pay for their own medical care and support their own families. Most people of Mexico flees there own country because there they only make the equivalent of a couple dollars a day but if they could make a decent wage and help fill our increasing military needs thats like killing two birds with one stone. Im not saying that the base will solve all our problems but in the long run will solve a lot of our current problems. As US citizens they also will be paying our government and social security taxes as we would expect them to do here.
There is only so much that we can do to solve our problems dont you think that by creating a friendship or bond with a country that just happens to be connected to us rather then treat them like they have an infectious illness. I don't know about you but id rather make sure that they are well helped being so close to us rather then say "hey you cant be here" or "get out of here your making us look bad". It time to say welcome and if you help us we will help you.
I am not saying that i am for one side or the other i am saying there should only be one side. United we stand use to mean something but now we cant even say anymore.
