If You Dream Of Angels

Within the prison of your days and
the restless pacing sleep of night's
dungeon, do dreams of angels wrap
around your heart; breasts tighten
at the thought, one may be out there
even now seeking to effect your rescue?
Do you then, with hesitant whisper,
conjure something more than hope, yet
less than prayer? If so, the one who
answers, may be of another cloth than
you wove into your fairy tale tapestry,
emerging stealthily from the shadows to
devour those sweet illusions, yet be
not surprised to discover, it was those
delusions that truly bound you.
