I have tinnitis, otherwise known as ringing in my ears. have been dealing with it for about 5 years. Docs say it is due to sinus probs, and have had me on nasal steroids for years, supposedly to cure it, or at least keep it from getting worse. They never made it go away, though for a few years did minimize the level, and annoyance.
Over the last year, they seem to have lost effectiveness. I have mentioned this to my new doc, who is good, but being caught up in the VA system, has limited options to help. She has scheduled me a new audigram, as until I get that, she can't even send me to a specialist. Last week things suddenly got worse. I am now getting weird echos in my left ear, and loud buzzing. Made a new appt to see her, but that's next wednesday. It's impossible to concentrate, sleep, or hold a conversation. Am trying to use an earplug to make it possible to at least sleep, and sort of talk, though I still can't watch tv, or listen to music.
Should I just deal with it until I can get back to the Doc, and hope they can do something quick? Or Give up, and stick an Ice Pick In My ear to make it stop? |
