Im gonna give the whole story and i want a lawyers opinion on it....
ok i got pregnant when i was 20 with my boyfriend at the time and i was with him till my son turned 2 months old but i gave my son the guys last name we were never married and he has never lagitamized (not sure of the spelling) him ad his son there is also another problem the guy has been to jail for statatory (spelling again sorry) rape, he was 22 and the girl was 15, he went to jail before i met him but any way he has not helped nor gave me child support since my son was 2 months old but now my son is 4 years old he also has not called to ask about him or anything. i know that he has been in jail twice since our break up. i never went to child support enforcment to get it in writing or court ordered but we did have a verbal agreement which i know will not stand up in court.
ok what i would like to know would i still need his permission to change me sons last name and what would i have to go through to get it done?
i am in georgia if that helps cause i know laws are different in other states.
