(Crysta's words exactly...not a paraphrase or a third party wording)
One day a few years back. I was not having such a good day. I wanted to do something. I don't remember what, but that is not the important part of this experience.
I got angry at her because she wouldn't let me have my way. I took all of my anger out on her, because I knew she would always be there in the end.
I for 3 hours straight told her how horrible she was, how I hated her and wished that I was born in a different family. I even told her I wished that she was dead.
She just sat there, she didn't cry. She didn't yell. She didn't get angry. She just let me go at her and keep going until finally I stopped.
I thought she was going to yell back, or tell me I was grounded or cry or something. But what she did instead was the most amazing thing any oarent could ever do.
She just looked at me and simply said "Crysta I Love You"
I broke down and started to cry... I was never expecting her to say that. I was expecting to get into trouble and then later tell me what all parents tell there kids. I do this because I love you. But those are just words that parents say to make you feel better and more yet make themselves feel better.
She totally showed me that she loved me by saying that.
I felt so bad, because even though I had hurt her terribly she still loved me and showed it by only saying she loved me and nothing else.
I will never forget that day as long as I live, and I have never done that to my mom again.
