OK so I've been trying to come up with some way to somehow get people to understand the soldiers and those that love them. So, I'll tell my story. I met my husband when he was a senior in college. Yes folks he has an education! So, your preconceived ideals about people joining the military to pay for college or living the American dream goes all hell out the window. We had not been apart more than 2 weeks the whole time we dated. If I was there he was, if he was there I was. It got to the point that I just stayed with him in the dorms.
In December a friend of his, who also has a college education decided that he wanted to enlist. He's wanted to be in the army since he was a child and well, joining the army for him was living out his childhood dream. After a few months of talking, my husband (then my fiance) decided he would join after a long discussion with me and weighing the pros and cons of doing so. His final thought was, "if I join and I get deployed to Iraq, then someone elses loved one will get to come home." So, after much deliberation-- I supported his decision into going into the army.
You see folks, like everyone-- we fall in love. Do we choose who we fall in love with? No. It just happens. We choose who we date though and then the rest just falls into place. So how is this much different then the lives other people lead? We can say the same about falling in love with some asshat who treats women with disrespect and hits them. And you tell them, get the fuck out don't you? Do, I sound unhappy in my relationship because I married someone who joined the military? Do, I bitch and moan because my husband has been called to war that was started by our own president that YOU elected? No. So, why is it OK for people to bash our soldiers and take it out on what the president did. If we can't trust our government then what makes you think that we can trust our media and those that make such documentaries such as Michael Moore has in the past. What makes any of this true? Because you are so dead against it all that you're willing to believe the media and the documentary bullshit drama of these so-called truths?
I will tell you who I believe. I believe our soldiers who see this first hand. Not some asshat holding a microphone in front of a news camera. Sure, they make it sound true, because its any reason to believe that in your minds to make it true. In all honesty here folks, we can't trust anyone. Point me to a documentary that I've not seen and point out to me that what they're saying is totally true and I'll point you in the direction of what the actual soldiers who are facing bullets, mortar attacks and IED's everyday who say otherwise.
And lastly I say this. What gives you the right to piss on our military and their families because you don't agree with what our own President has decided to do for the sake of another country. What gives you that right at all? After all, you elected him. And now that we have to have him in office you point your fucking fingers at our brave men and women in service who are risking their lives everyday just so you can get keep your freedoms to say whatever your cold hearts desire. What gives you the right to say to me that my husband needs to come home in a fucking box? What gives you the right to even be here? Our soldiers of the past let you have your freedoms and your military of the present and future let you keep your freedoms as well. If we didn't have such brave men and women fighting in harms way everyday, I'd guarentee you'd be called upon to do so.
Stop and think about what your saying and how this could've been prevented had you NOT cast your vote to put the current president in.
