This is all too fucking ironic!
Less than a month ago, i went, in person, to put in an application to work for Amazon thru Integrity. Normally any place you go and put apply for if you can't do it at that time, due to your own personal schedule, they "hold" your application for 6 months.
The way integrity works is that you have to call and set up a time to come in and fill out paper work and wait to be interviewed. I had all my paper work finished and had to leave before the interview b/c i had to work that day. I called last week to reschedule and appointment for an interview since i had all my paper work completed. I go in today, and the first person looks for my folder, not there. The they tell me to walk around to talk to someone else. The guy looks for my information on the computer... not found; goes upstairs... can't find it; looks in the same file cabinet the first person looked... can't find it. Looks on the computer again... not found. It had been less than a fucking month since i went in and filled out the paper work, sat for two and a half fucking hours, sat and watched people after me get called before me to be interviewed. Then i had to leave b/c i had to work that day, and they gave me a piece of paper with a number to call to reschedule, and told me they would "hold on" to my application and that it would be there.
I go back today... NOT A FUCKING THING!
Now i'm lead to believe they didn't hold on to it for one reason and one reason only. Now i'm not the person to go and even say something like this, but because of the color of my skin, they "lost" m application. That's the only fucking reason i can think of. And they haven't given me a reason why they wouldn't have it, especially since i was told then, and now, that they hold on to applications for six months to a year. And my application disappeared in less than a month... what else am i to believe. I'm not the only person this has happened to, there are several other people that i know this has happened to, i hate to say it, but they are african american too. How ironic.
With the history of the United States, racial issue, and the fear of a "colored" man being the president... all the remarks made about him, i.e. "My president isn't black and never will be," that's no reason to go and disrespect other individuals that don't have the same skin color. I will never disrespect anyone for being a different skin color. Why? because we didn't have a fucking choice to be born black, white, mexican, asian, hispanic, korean, indian, african, or anything else.
WE ARE NOT GOD AND NEVER WILL BE!
And if you're afraid of a black man being in charge of the United States, get the fuck over it. Just remember, tens of millions of people, white, black, mixed, or what ever voted to have him in office. And yes we are entitled to our own opinions, but disrespectful ones, keep them to yourself. You didn't have the choice to be born the way you were, neither were anybody else that you walk by, communicate with, work with, date, or anything else.
So get over yourself, and deal with the choice that We as Americans made to elect a black man for president. Deal with it.
