I just moved recently.
I had talked to the manager of the old apartment building before I turned in my keys and told him what was wrong with the apartment. It was things like broken door knobs, nail holes in the wall, a few problems with the carpeting and the likes. I explained to him that I didn't have time to fix all of it because of moving while working full time and going to school. He said he understood and would take care of it. He was extremely nice and understanding.
Yesterday I got a bill in the mail from him. The bill consisted of general cleaning, missing blinds, patching holes and cleaning out my storage area. I had hired somebody to clean, had no blinds when I moved in, no holes bigger than a nail and the storage locker contained a $500 dollar weight set that I had given to the manager.
So with all of the cleaning and repairs the bill came out to $110 dollars more than my security deposit.
Should I just pay it and leave it be or should I send the guy a bill for $500 dollars? |
