Good Morning. It’s a Monday in Michigan (and just about everywhere else too for that matter) and I am back in Michigan…Wow time fly’s every time you just want it to stay and last…Mandy is now a Floridian and starts her job on Tuesday as well as has her classes lined up. She had to take a placement test for College Placement (to determine where best that person is suited in ability, so they would not be over or under their head in learning ability) She tested very high in math so she was placed in higher math entry classes and just below the top slot in language and reading. She is happy however she does have to travel to two separate campuses due to her chosen art field is not what the counselor thought would be best for her abilities. So she is all set and ready.
As always I never lead in with pictures and I owe so many to so many. Hang tight they will be coming forth.
Wow, I surely did miss writing daily. It’s so funny when you are used to doing this and that and things get changed around…well it’s hard to explain I guess. However being the critic I am, I guess you could call me a critic as I tear apart things almost on a daily basis or do I joke about them…hmmm perhaps sort of both…
I have many stories about Florida only because that is where most of my family ended up at. So I may just up date everyone on some of their progresses which is not all interesting however one story may be to those who really want to know my brothers fate. He is the one who went wife shopping in the Philippines. They are doing fantastic. She has converted him to a catholic (cat licker, sounds….well I have heard it before but it still sounds well…) There are pictures and crosses all over the place. The house on the lake looks fabulous. He needed someone like Doris, they do compliment one another I must add, so the whole process I would have to say was worth all the pain…
I will tell one funny story of the trip which happened to us while we were shopping in the Madeira Beach area. First though, if you love seafood (I DO!) and you are in or near the Madeira Beach area you have to try The Friendly Fisherman’s Restaurant it overlooks John’s Pass just off the St. Pete Beach, treasure Island and Madeira Beach. Fabulous Seafood Sampler just Fabulous! So on with the story…We had ate together and decided to shop mostly window shop and NO! We were not in the market to buy new windows…So we happen upon this boutique where it had all kinds of girly girl clothes and things. Mandy and Jess come across a skirt thingy that one could fold it around them to make a top, a dress a skirt you name it there were about 600 and 6 different ways to wear it…no kidding! And…when you bought it you were given a sheet of paper detailing all the correct ways to make that happen…you know to make it into different styles… to me, it was just a piece of silken wear that looked like the fabric company that made it had no idea how to finish the piece…So Mandy as talented as she is said, “Hey I can make this skirt myself and save the $29.99 because it had a web site on this particular item…so we buy a top for Peg and Jax back home (Jax the Daughter and Peg the Good Friend of Bonn Bonn) and as we are doing that the store clerk a sweet, sweet gal says to Amanda, you can have one of those sheets to show you how to fold the skirt and make it all the different looks. So we thank her, and just as she hands over the paper and gives us our receipt the Owner of the Boutique gets the gal aside and says something to her…She comes back over to us and says…”I am sorry…I can’t let you have that sheet of paper…due to the fact you did not purchase the skirt…” You could tell she was not happy in saying that to us and felt like an Indian Giver. Then all of a sudden out of the Blue the Paper Nazi owner says…”We only have enough of those to give out to people who purchase the skirts…” I am like, PAAAAAALease!!!! What kind of Nazi are you lady… so we gather our ites WE did purchase and head out towards the door and the sales clerk who was way too embarrassed for words caught Mandy on the way out and handed her a slip of paper with the web site address so she could down load her own copy… Too funny. The Paper Nazi lost out on a sale and promotion of future sales from us, however we did praise the sales clerk…who no doubt got reprimanded for it all…
So for my first day back I wish you all a great day and words I can’t express more then, I am sad to be this far away from my youngest…but am glad I am back to write to you all….
