I am a man, and I am basically stupid.

Yes, this is in fact a confession and a testimony. If this seems too hard to believe, it is only because it has not been done enough for you in your experience. If this seems easy to believe and to accept, it is only because you have done it yourself and you know it to be true.

Stupid is: without knowledge and wisdom. Since man was formed from the dust of the earth, man has not had either knowledge or wisdom. Most of history has done well to hide this fact from our view. But history has been completely unable to remove it. The world has taught man most of what man uses as knowledge and wisdom to this day. And man has learned well to deny this fact with the very fiber of his being.

Adam was such a stupid man that he could not be left alone for long without God’s watch and guidance. All the time that Adam spent alone with God in the Garden of Eden; never once was he approached by the serpent. Why? Because Adam was too stupid to see anything other than what was shown to him by God. This was the best time man had with being stupid.

That time was very short, too short for Adam to grasp the importance of his condition; but all apart of a much grander plan. Adam’s loneliness as a special creation of God’s was addressed by God. And this second creation opened a door that was otherwise not available to the serpent.

Adam heard and received all of his influence from God. And being as stupid as Adam was, Adam did not know anything apart from God’s voice giving him instruction. And then came Eve. Now Adam was unaware, as stupid is unaware, that another voice can offer another view. The serpent however, was fully aware. Eve had a very obvious distinction from Adam. Eve was; second in creation and formed from the first of creation.  Even if Adam could see these two distinctions, as stupid as Adam was, he could not see how these distinctions could alter his own perception. 

However, the serpent could. Eve met the serpent, and the serpent spoke to Eve. The serpent used Eve’s distinctions from Adam to get Adam to do what the serpent wanted Adam to do. The result gave mankind over to the world in which the serpent rules. And yet, even this is in fact apart of God’s masterful plan.

I am stupid! As old as I am, and as long as I have known and believed the story given in scripture about Adam and Eve, I have not known this. This knowledge was not given to me by the world. The world would rather silence me than allow me to share this type of knowledge with other people. But the world is proud and confident that it has pretty much removed all desire from mankind to acknowledge anything even remotely related to the truth.

Yes, I am just as stupid as every other man on this planet. I confess that to you now. But the confession to you has no value, as interesting and as entertaining as it may be. My public confession of this truth did not just occur before I wrote this article. No, that happened some time ago, and it became public after it was made to God.

You see, it’s as simple as this: A cup full of water; cannot hold any more water. If I think that I know all I need to know, then there is no room for me to hold any more knowledge, true or otherwise. But! If I dump the cup out, and consider it all waste. Then I can turn back to God and ask Him to fill it up with what He wants me to have as knowledge and wisdom. Then it becomes incredibly easy to see why I have no problem with confessing just how stupid I am. This practice is not popular in the world, and worst yet, this practice will soon be completely forbidden by the world. And your very life will depend on your obedience to rejecting it. No, I’m not a religious man; religion is a product of the world. I am simply a stupid man, dependent on the guidance of God and the gift of His grace. Soon, the time to choose will be over. And your opportunity to confess will end. Are you willing to confess just how stupid you are today? I certainly hope so.
