Ok, me and Noel have been together for almost a year now. It's going fantastically well. We're both getting exactly what we need and want from the relationship and we're very happy. There is however the age difference. He's 46 for those of you who don't know.
The problem arises with the disapproval from, well, just about everyone. family, friends, random strangers. None of what they say is putting me off being with him. Thus far my approach to dealing with it has been to tell whoever is bitching at me that we're happy, and while they are entitled to their opinion it isn't going to change that.
But, the same people keep bitching, particularly my brother. There are also the members of his family that like to tell him that shagging a 24 year old caused his heart attack.
I accept that there will always be people that disapprove, but at this point I thought our families would be more supportive.
Any ideas on how I can make the family understand that we are gong to be together and that they need to STFU? |
