What is Cache? Cache is often referred to as Temporary Internet Files and is located in a folder on your Systems Drive. This folder usually contains a kind of travel record of the items you have either seen, heard, or downloaded from the Web (whether it be Images, Sounds, Web Pages or even Website Cookies. Storing these files can make browsing the Web faster because it usually takes your computer less time to display a Web page when it can call up some of the page's elements or even the entire page from your local Temporary Internet Files folder.

Cleaning Internet Explorer's Cookies & Cache Internet Explorer is the main browser for storing Cookies & Cache and is the one that typically needs cleaning out the most. Follow the steps below and you should have a better experience with Internet Explorer: Open Internet Explorer At the top of the browser screen, either click on Tools or the little gear On one of these areas click on Internet Options... Once the Options Box has opened find the Browsing History section and click on the Delete button.
A Delete Browsing History window will appear. Under Browsing history, click Delete... - Check off the areas you wish to clean
When this is finished, you can click Close, then click OK on the Internet Options window, this will return you to your web page. Adjusting Internet Explorer Settings While it's true that the more files you can load from your hard disk, the faster your browsing speed, it's also true that those pages on the Web might have changed since being stored on your computer. You might not want to miss fresh content just to save a little time. Fortunately, in addition to the size of the cache, you can also customize how often Internet Explorer checks the Web for updated content. THIS COMES AS A WARNING TO ALL MEMBERS WHO USES THESE INTERFACES.. Cleaning Firefox's Cookies & Cache Like Internet Explorer Firefox uses the same type of caching properties. The only difference between these two is they have different cache folders. Below is a small overview of what Firefox's data stream will look like Browsing History: contains a log web locations you have previously visited. Download History: keeps a list of files you've downloaded. Saved Form Information: contains a list of phrases you have entered in text fields, such as web searches, and name and address fields. Cache: stores temporary files, such as web pages and other online media, that you have downloaded from the Internet. Cookies: stores files created by web sites, that store information on your computer, such as your preferences when visiting that site. (When a web site has a "remember this" checkbox, they are using a cookie.) Saved Passwords: contains a list of usernames and passwords you have opted to have Firefox remember. Authenticated Sessions: keeps you logged into secure web sites, you have already used the password manager to log in to. Follow the steps below to clear Firefox's Browsing History. Open Firefox Locate the orange Firefox button at the Top Left of your screen and click that or locate the Tools menu and click it. Once you have clicked on one of the locations then you will now need to locate Clear Recent History and click on that. Once you have clicked on one of the locations a new window will appear with all of clearing options.

Cleaning Firefox's Automatically Follow the steps below to set up Firefox to clear your history automatically: Open Firefox Locate the orange Firefox button at the Top Left of your screen and click that or locate the Tools menu and click it. Once you have clicked on one of the locations then you will now need to locate Options and click on that. A new window will appear (usually it will open on the General Tab. Locate the Privacy Tab and click on it.
In the History section of the Privacy Panel, click the dropdown next to Firefox will:, select from the dropdown menu Use custom settings for history then go down and locate the check box for Clear history when Firefox exits and click it.

Once you have checked off what you want Firefox to automatically clear click on the Ok button, Cleaning Chrome's Cookies & Cache Chrome is more or less an extension of Safari. Even though the browser was built using Googles API's it still uses a browsing engine named Webkit/KHTML. Follow the steps below to clean Google Chrome's browsing history: Open Google Chrome Locate the wrench on the Top Right of Chrome and click it. Once a menu has opened locate Tools and hover it. After you have hovered on Tools locate A new window (or tab) will appear with a box that has what you can clear from Google Chrome. On this window locate the area that says Obliterate the following items from: and it will allow you to clear data Once you have chosen what you want cleared simply check off what you want cleared and click the Cleaning Opera's Cookies & Cache Opera uses a totally different Browsing Engine than those mentioned above and implements different settings to cater to some peoples needs. Follow the steps below to clean Opera's browsing history: Open Opera Either locate the Opera button on the Top Left corner of the browser or Tools on the Expanded Menu and click on them both. On the Default Location locate Settings then Delete Private Data. Once you have clicked on Delete Private Data a new window (or tab) will appear.
While on the new window click on Detailed Options to get a full list of what Opera can clear.
Check off what you want Opera to clear then click the Delete button on the bottom of the window. In Conclusion, each browser uses a different method to cleaning Cookies & Cache, but the main browser that will need cleaning is Internet Explorer. The reason I say this is because even though each browser has their own Cache folder a small part is still stored on the Computers Temporary Folder (or in the folder Internet Explorer is defaulted to). Always make sure to clean your browser daily (especially if your on a site with heavy images like Fubar.com, Facebook or a Image Hosting Site like Photobucket).
