How much to you really know about sex? You might consider yourself an expert on this subject, but here's an opportunity to learn whether or not this is true. True or false? 1. Normal, adjusted people don't have any sexual fetishes. 2. Happily married men usually don't like to listen to other males -- especially single ones -- talk about their sexual adventures. 3. Sexual perversions, or even the need for unusual and extreme sexual experiences, are usually related to early life in the home. They're usually a homemade product. 4. Males and females have the same expectations and seek the same results from sex. 5. So-called normal people can never become addicted to sex in any way. 6. While sex education is important, it's rarely needed once the couple have started their own family. 7. Men have always been considered more highly sexed than women. 8. The earliest age of sexual initiation takes place in the Northeastern part of the country. ANSWERS: 1. FALSE. We forget that sexual enhancers, or what might be called sexual fetishes, are frequently used by "normal, adjusted" people. Some of these are perfume, sexy lingerie, satin sheets or pj's, water beds, or even special music or lighting. 2. FALSE. They love it -- even more so when it's single guys who are talking. Its gives the married men an opportunity to relive the excitement of the chase, as well as the sex, through them. 3. TRUE. While this isn't true in every instance, most studies reveal that sexual perversions or aberrations generally do begin with some experiences in early childhood. For instance, there is often a link between excessive guilt and sadomasochism. The masochist wants or needs to be humiliated, and the sadist wants to punish. 4. FALSE. Females place a much higher value on a man's being emotionally as well as sexually available. They have a greater need for intimacy and sharing ideas as well as sex. 5. FALSE. Both men and women can actually become addicted to sex, but it's perhaps more common for them to become addicted to a particular person and feel extreme pain and frustration without him or her. 6. FALSE. Once a baby is on its way or the couple start a family, their roles become more complicated and, according to experts, this is an especially important time for sex education, which can save the marriage. 7. FALSE. The idea that males are by nature more highly sexed than women is, apparently, fairly new in terms of history. Early Christians and Romans of the same period considered women somewhat dangerous and very carnal creatures. 8. FALSE. Sexual activities begin earliest in the Southern states, and the least sexual activity at any time takes place in the Midwest. The divorce rate is highest in what is often called the Bible Belt. If you answered six of these eight questions correctly, you're better informed than most on this particular subject.
