If you change who you are in order to have someone love you then that person will never love you for they will love someone they think is you. When you change your beliefs, the person you love will believe that the person they love is some one else. When you change how you see the other person they won't see you at all because you no longer are who you are meant to be. When you alter to yourself why you love that person you cannot receive the love you want to have. If you change who you are in order gain the affections of anothers then the person you have become will forever be changing and the one you hurt the most will be yourself because you will never know your true self and will not be able to live the life you were meant to live.
True love is not a sacrifice of onerself or who you are but a giving of everything that makes a you who you are, will be, and have always been. If you truly love a person it is for the same reasons and not what they can give you in return as true love asks for nothing in return but the knowledge of true love itself. When you are able to give yourself freely to another person then you are thus free from worry of everything else and the insecurities of this plane of exsistance.
Also, when you trully love someone you must do everything possible to make sure the other person wants for nothing but not at the cost of trying to constantly impress them because they will eventually resent you for it. If you love a person you do everything to make sure they never feel pain due to you and when it is caused by others you try to take the pain away.
