It has been a harrowing few days because we had unexpected visitors on Thursday and they left today. The house was not tidy but it was sort of clean where it needed to be. Even the kitchen window got its face splashed.
The visitors were he who has the compeetoe's sister and husband. The dirt does not matter too much to her because she cannot see well due to damage from laser surgery required because of her diabetes. That was a terrible time for her and it needn’t have happened if those in the know had listened to her in the first place rather than making her feel like an idiot and giving her tranquilizers/antidepressants.
I have been driven mad by my brother-in-law because he is a chatter box and a repetitive one at that. I think that is nerves and maybe a little early onset memory deterioration. I don't know. All I know is that I am not a morning person and need a good caffeine fix and quiet half an hour to become human. Unfortunately, that did not occur and I get grumpy due to low blood sugar dips too. My tongue is well bitten now or they would never visit again and I have a bad enough reputation in the family anyway for being the odd ball or off the wall ball.
Anyway this is by the by. Today my marketing manageress sent me an email about a lady requiring people for her radio show. She wants writers, authors and people who think they have something to say to the world. I don't know what I thought about that but thought it costs nothing and a rejection is nothing new so I wrote some details and still need to post her a book.
Finally, I got around to reading my horrorscopes and I cannot believe it. +++++

This is no words of any lies and the final bit is uncanny because we are going on holiday to Rhodes on Wednesday. I did not want a holiday because I had a beautiful one in February and anyway I have only just caught up with the washing and ironing. Well, I hate ironing and hand washing can linger here for ages until I am in the mood. At least I am honest even if I am lazy.
Tomorrow I am going to my grumpy friend’s for a facial and some hair tear torture which is fine if you are a hippo or Rhino but surgery rewired my pain-threshold department and I have to be scraped of the ceiling now or tied to the bed. When we are on holiday I will have a hair cut because I don’t do English haircuts. It costs too much here and I begrudge paying £50 for an attack by scissors. Indian barbers and Greek hairdressers do a brilliant job, well mostly, plus they do not make he who has the compeetoes turn white. Oh that is another thing. I thought we were poverty stricken and then out of the blue we are going to Rhodes. There is something not quite right in the accounts department here so he who knows all must be slipping or fibbing. Who can say.
As for the accounts well I had to honestly account for an innocent miscalculation. No it was not so much that but the invoices I did for the bookstore were wrong. He phoned up and asked me to put the final sales price minus discount, plus postage and come out at the same answer. I had to ask him to send me a copy of what he meant because I am no good at maths and you cannot always picture what someone else is explaining. He very kindly did that and I was so grateful to him. My second attempt was spot on apparently so I learnt something but still have no idea what the actual percentage was. He just gave me the final amounts but not the percent. My sister in law said it was 20% and as she is mathematical I believe her.
Well that is as exciting as it gets but we did go out twice for evening meals. Therefore I only had to cook once and considering we don’t get visitors I think I did very well and that is thanks to surgery because I can multi-task now and do things without panicking. It tasted OK too and more to the point they both ate everything except for some cooked celery. That was an accolade because my brother-in-law is a picky eater at the best of times.
Now of course there is some more washing to do and then the packing and whatever else pops up along the way. Life never get really exciting but it is never uneventful and the fence is still standing, the garage roof is still on and we are still breathing even though the wind has tried to take it away whilst I fought with the towels and bedding. So I should not grumble but I did. And just to make it seem worthwhile, it has just started raining so if the towels are still on the line then I had better rescue them!!!!! At least we are blessed not to have had a cyclone but just the aftermath, thank goodness too. It must be awful out there.
