What has overcome her life?
This darkness that plagues her being.
Where did it come from?
Was it death that brought it?
Perhaps her mother gave it to her?
Or was it brought by the abuse she suffered?
I could just be that she did it to herself.
There are times when it appears she has won battles.
But she'll never win the war.
She wants a truce, brought by her own blood.
Yet her foe laughs at this notion of peace.
Allies against her enemy are too quickly shot down,
small pawns in a much larger game.
Every step forward she takes pushes her ten more behind.
Each time she stops or retreats, she is drawn closer to her assassin.
The whole weight of the universe rests on her shoulders,
And only she can strike it down.
