Hennessy in Tennessee

Ambient lighting, low and golden

Mahogany table shines like new

Velvet seats from days olden

I share a bottle of Hennessy in Tennessee with you

Soft candlelight and the scent of roses

Saxman playing in the corner

He has the blues, I supposes

As he keeps time with the French Horner

Chitlins, greens, okra, fried chicken and cornbread

As well as tasty, spicy Cajun fare

He blows the bittersweet tunes of those long dead

With sorrow in his eyes, and in his air

Musky sweet perfume lingers on my skin

A reminder of the passions to come

Remembrances of days and nights back when

We melded together and first became One

The tender look in your eyes arouses me

In all my secret places, so deep within my soul

As we sip Hennessy in Tennessee

My heart, like a thief, you long ago stole

Violin joins in the mellow, bluesy sound

You take my hands, kissing my lips

Leading me onto the floor to dance a round

One strong hand of the curve of my hip

As you pull me close and stroke my hair

I feel a love so deep and strong

The bluesmen smile at the love we share

As they continue to slowly, pleasantly play on

Dessert comes as we end our slow, romantic dance

It's delectable, cool, fruity-sweet and smooth

Bluesmen play a poignant song, we share a loving glance

With a smile on your handsome face

A toast is proposed in loving honor of Us
