lady morticia's blog: "HELP WITH MY FUR BABY "

I posted this as a mumm too....was not sure where the best place would be. 

I was hoping someone might have gone thru this their fur baby (well hope no one has to go thru this).  Quite a few months ago i took her to the groomers and they found a hole in her cheek. It is hard to see b/c she has a lot of fur on her face. Of course i panicked and took her to the vets. The vet said it was a cyst that popped. So she said i needed to get her in for surgery and have it removed.

So that is what i did, she said it had a huge root on it and that she did not think she got it all but she did not want to go any further due to getting close to the nerves.Since then i have been having to take her every week to the vets b/c it does not want to heal. The have to keep putting antibiotic cream on it and keep cleaning. It is not doing any better. My usually Vet was not there and she thinks it might be an absent tooth. So now i have to take her in Monday so they can put her under and take some xrays and if it is the tooth they will remove it and if it is not they are going to explore and see if they can find out what is wrong.

I am scared due to she is not a big dog (she is a Shih Tzu) and it is more dangerous every time they are put under. 
I guess i am hoping someone has heard of this before and may know what is wrong so i can tell the vet to make sure they check for that..
