Help the kids...

Good Morning. Yea it is a Friday and normally a good wish would be announced from me to all. I thought perhaps today since B93 a country station I listen to on the way into work is doing their annual Roof-Sit for Kids and feels the world is no longer listening to their plight…I would help in any way I can…one way was to pass their information along to others. Child abuse is no just in west Michigan, not just in Michigan and Not just in the United States…it’s world wide. Please help get the word out. The B93 Listener family started back in the early Ninety’s with a Roof-Sit for kids. It was on a early fall day in September while Neal Dionne was up on the roof making a statement for kids a Battered child from Texas did not know he would create a statement that has been used on their radio station since that day when he told his story. The boy fresh off the bus a Gray-Hound from Texas heard Neal on the radio and came to give what he could by giving 25.00 of his 50.00 he had to his name… He said I would give it all but I have to save the other 25.00 to buy a shirt so I can look for a job here in Michigan. He in his note to Neal which was raised up in the Roof-Sit bucket. The note read on that his father was a heavy handed man that often landed his hand on this child. He stayed at home as long as he could taken beating after beating with no help from the child’s mother apparently also scared of the father. The boy continued to say in his letter to Neal that he could of left years ago, but decided to stay and take the whopp’ns that would have surely gone to his younger sisters. When he thought they were safe on their own he left that battered Texas House and hopped on a Bus to anywhere as far as he could safely get away from that man. Before Neal could finish this boys letter through tears he had 5 Job interviews on hold for this boy and a woman from a Local JC Penny Promising to pick this boy up and give him a brand new suit and shoes for his interview. And that… is how the B93 Lister family began. It’s not how much you can give or what you can give…its get the word out… kids do not come into this world to be abused…But they are at an astounding rate…stop the abuse…if you can’t give, pass this letter on and perhaps through word of mouth it will reach out and help. Today The caravan will travel to Benton Harbor. No I am not a rich man, No I can’t stop the abuse either along, but I will give what I can to help and let me just say. It was not easy writing a letter of this sort…Normally I am as up beat as up beat can be…May god bless… and thank you for at least reading this far…the rest is from the B93 web-site. A very huge hug… Marty Can you help the Kids? The B-93 Roofsit for Kids runs now through Saturday afternoon. Each year, B-93's Neal Dionne takes the roof of Millbrook Tack & Trailer on 68th Street just east of U.S. 131 to raise money to fight child abuse and neglect in West Michigan.
