Yeah, I'm still breathing.... LOL
I know its been awhile since alot of people have heard from me. So I thought I'd drop a few lines and say HELLO to EVERYONE at one time. LOL I've been trying to keep myself busy the last few weeks. And seem to be doing a pretty good job of it. I've kinda taken over mom's garden. And have been working on it, among a few other things. One day last week Meanass and I trimmed back the rose bush, and pulled all the weeds out of it. Boy that was a chore. LOL
A few minutes ago someone handed me a very touching poem. And I would like to share it with my friends. If this don't touch your heart and bring a tear to your eye, I'll be surprised.
Through The Eyes of a Senior
As I sit in the garden
The sun shines upon my face,
It takes me back to a
Special time and place.
It reminds me of happier moments,
I once had in my life,
When mother first taught me to bake,
And brother got his first pocket knife.
When life was easy and your
neighbors were your friends,
And where every disagreement
Could be mady by amends.
Where kids played marbels and
A game of kick the can,
When love ended in marriage
And they strolled hand in hand.
As I open my eyes
And see the past disappear,
I come to my sences
And the present year.
I see my gray long hair
My wrinkled older hands,
The faint and distant memories
Of my retirement plans.
I find myself now
In the care of others,
I no longer have any
Living sisters or brothers.
I sit here alone waiting for
A visitor each and every day.
A familiar face to
Come my way.
I can no longer remember
The moments or times in my day,
Or how to put the proper words
Into what I want to say.
My heart now heavy aformer shell
of who I was in my years,
The thought alone
Brings me to tears.
I sit here now Sad and all alone,
In this un familiar place
That I now call my home.
