Ok as some of you know I love to write and have delved into
novel writing instead of doing short stories or scripted story writing for the
likes of Readers Digest and/or Dragon Mag.
My 5th and youngest son has inspired me to write to completion a novel
that may well turn into a series that I hope will rival that of Potter and Twilight
(thats not an impossible feat actually).
In the story I am writing now I lay the ground work, history
and spin into it also a love story mixed evenly with concepts of racism and
even sexism. The world is centered on a
race of creatures called the Gryffs (Gryffon/Gryphon) and they are bipedal in
stature and manner. I wont go into too
great a detail but my other inspiration is a literary work “To Kill a
Mockingbird” and I hope honestly to give a message not only of entertainment
but profound importance to the world with this work of fiction. If it is missed then so be it… if it is
welcomed than great.
Now the fun part was that based on my experience already was
that you have to pay for your manuscript to be published… that is only true if
you do not have a publisher that will pick it up for publishing. Also… any NEW writer with a significant
manuscript such as mine will have to have an agent doing their leg work for
them and sell that said manuscript… thus securing the publisher… I now have
one! So the yippee news here is that the
agent I now have wont be paid til the book is sold for publishing and it wont
cost me anything!
