Well on 4/29 I will have carpal tunnel surgery for my right hand. After 6-8 weeks I will be scheduling the surgery for my left hand.
I have not been online much lately. Not even on fb very much really. Here's why. I found out today that I have carpal tunnel in both wrists. I was referred to one of the top orthapedic hand surgeons in the country. Lucky for me he is here in St. Louis. I will call to make an appointment this week.
My hands have been swollen and painful nonstop for over 2 weeks now. I am on naprosyn now to see if it helps the swelling. So far, not working yet. I also have wrist braces to wear to bed. Hopefully this will give me some relief and I will actually be able to sleep!
Will update more when I know more.
As most of you know I injured all the cartilage between my ribs on my left side. In addition I 'pulled' the muscle at the end of my ribs by my sternum. I had been having chest pains off and on since November. Usually after a lot of heavy lifting at work. I wasn't concerned about it because about five years ago I had the same pains. It turns out that I had micro tears in my chest wall muscles. I got to do the whole stress test thing back then and my heart was in great shape. So as the months went on and the pain continued to occurr more often I still ignored it. My heart was in great shape, right. Present day, my heart is healthy but I do still get the rib/chest pain. Turns out the 5 months I ignored my pain has turned into 5 months of therapy and limited abilities. I can't even do any workouts or yoga until mid July and even then I will be limited. I so miss working out. I gained 14 lbs sitting on my ass recovering from this injury. I still have 1-2 days a week where my side or shoulder hurts. Since I have been back to full duty at my regular job today has been the worst day. I came home from work Monday night pretty stiff and sore. Usually sleep fixes that but not this time. Yesterday I did my exercises and one load of laundry so that I wouldn't overdue it. I didn't sleep well last night because the pain was worse in some sleeping positions. So today I am going to take another anti inflammatory and relax.
The lesson here is always listen to your body. Sorry for the long blog to say something so short. I just wanted to give you all some background.
