Options other than Government Health care?

For those against a government program for health care I'd like to know what options do you have for those that don't have health care, or can't afford health care, or can't get health care because of pre-existing conditions?

But lets make sure we are being accurate here.  Because the plans being talked about here aren't a government take over of all health care  That is just a smokescreen for those against it.  Its a plan that lets people keep their existing non-government plans, or if they don't' have one choose from a pool of health care options. 

So again I ask for those against it, what other options do you propose to fill in the gaps the current system has.   What options do you have for those going bankrupt because of their health needs?  What options do you have for those that can't afford health care and are sick?  What options do you have for those that have to make a choice between their next meal and health care?

To me there is only one option.  Provide the care for them.  This isn't about money, this is about peoples lives.  This is life or death for some. I repeat, this is life or death for some.  For me if its that kind of choice I will always choose life over cost. 

It seems to me that those that oppose these plans tend to be those who have health care coverage, or don't have health care issues.    I have to say to them, think about what it would be like if you were in the shoes of all those that can't afford it, who can't get coverage because of pre-existing conditions, or those that don't have it.   I wonder what they would say to the mom whose son died because she could afford health or dental care, and he died because of a simple tooth infection?

Is government health care a bad option?  Maybe.   But then show me another alternative other than what we have now.  For me this isn't a cost issue, its a morale one.  Providing coverage for everyone who needs it.
