end of week two... 18 more to go Been a very busy week of work. roommates moved out and i grabbed what is called the princess bed. in a room with three people the bed that stands alone is the most sought after one. And while i was at work they moved someone in. so much for peace and quite. Work is boring. I do about 200-400 Caesar salads a night. We are getting a new sous chef, chef, and Captain of the ship in a week or two. From what i hear they are all very militant about everything. But i might get the chance to move over to the specialty salad station. Weather has gotten better when i have been out on the deck to check it out. Got to see the lava flow a few nights ago. very impressive even if it was out in the distance and then the next day we passed by some huge cliffs that were just beautiful. did not have my camera on me at the time. but i will next week!

end of week 1 saturday was hard. went to barbers point to train in firefighting and water rescue. on the way there we past the governor's house and saw diamond head way off in the distance. Had a bus driver that was a militant Hawaiian national. pissed off about the pollution in pearl harbor by the military and the overthrow of the Hawaiian empire years ago. got to see a double rainbow, one was really strong and i could see both ends clearly. and saw another double on the way back put on the whole fire suit and just about boiled alive... without being anywhere near the fire. when we went to fight the fire i had to do it blind because the breather mask did not have room for my glasses. that was interesting. we also put out an "electrical" fire with a co2 extinguisher... boring. the water rescue was in the pool and that was cold when we had to get out. learned to get in the raft a few different ways and how to flip it the right way if it was upside down. The dinner that night sucked ass. we ate in the skyline restaurant, the "5" star dinner. i have yet to figure out why people would pay that much money to eat shit. maybe 6oz of lamb with a tablespoon of white undercooked beans and a cup of flavorless mint sauce. guess i will be losing a lot of weight here. Sunday another day of meetings. this time it was the official orientation. we had the ships captain, and a few others talk to us about thing on the ship. each one of them reminded us about the drinking policy... 0.04% and thats all, two beers an hour. must have heard that about a hundred times so far. doesn't matter any our cards don't work for some damned reason. something to do with putting us in the system. they worked earlier in the week. got my work kitchen and guess the fuck what... pantry. every fucking kitchen every fucking time i work at a different place. and people wonder why i am getting sick and tired of working in kitchens. maybe i can bug the next chef enough to at least get moved to the pizza ovens. wanted a beer after work but can't yet. very cheap $1.75 a bottle.

Had a busy night last night. did not get out of class until after 8pm. Hit the crew bar. talk about cheap. 1.75 a bottle. the place has a pool table, a few big screens, and a shitty dj. passed the first aid test with a 96. Today was all about fire fighting. boring as hell. got a 92 on the test. Stuck on the one island that it is not safe to debark on. the local hate the cruise workers and a few of the workers have been put in the hospital. A wonderful view from the smoking deck. looks like rain is on the way again.

Day 2 bus was an hour late picking the 18 of us up. we had to call to get them to come and do it. organized this place is not. my two roommates both speak english and are leaving in two weeks. means i get the place to myself for at least a week. Lots of nice people on here. Swells are very high but no seasickness yet. crew food sucks but is filling. everything cost money even a glass of water at the bar. going to walmart in the Am. need to pick up odds and ends that i forgot. Day 3 got off the boat and went to walmart in the rain and cold. Had a "fireside" chat with HR and the safety officer today. heard some stories. found out where the crew bar is and the internet cafe. cant wait to get this week over with and into the kitchen. Day 4 in safety class today. talk about boring. crew movie is the transformers. i have now seen it 3 times today. food sucks again. no surprise there.

well after a long ass flight and an almost missed connection in Atl i am here in Hawaii. 6am my time and can't sleep. rained in the middle of the night. first time in awhile i have heard that sound. Suffering from nasal congestion thanks to the over poluted San Fran air. the moment i walked off the plane i started to suffer.

ok folks here it is. On friday mroning at 6am i will be flying out to Honolulu, Hi. Looking like a 12 hour flight all told. I should be able to get online about once a week to update evevyone about what is happening with me and post some pictures. send me a messege if you have any request for pictures. The job i have is that of assistant cook. what it is i have know clue. wish me luck
