Happy New Year (An Acrostic Poem)
How Humans now celebrate the Winter Solstice
And herald a new three hundred sixty five days
Perhaps they go skiing, or just for a drive
Party till dawn, oh, there are so many ways
You’d have been a year older, in olden days
Now we have football all the day through
Excitement and movies, always sumthin’ new
We’d have been a year older, in olden days
You wait in the morning for the Rose Parade
Eat, drink and be merry for one more off day
At the mercy of weather, or inside and warm
Revealing these years are more modern days
