Some of you are already saying, "yeah, right". Well lets look at it the way I see it. Maybe I am wrong but I don't think so. First off the government caped off a lot of oil wells back in the 80's. Prices went up and we started buying more from over seas. So that in fact started raising prices. We are heavily reling on forgien oil now adays then in the past. If we uncap this oil wells and then drill in the gulf coast and Alaska we would not have to buy any forgien oil for hundreds of years. Now for the other reasons for higher fuel prices. Last year the Government emposed a hefty $19 Billion dollar tax on the oil companies. These companies have to pass the cost on down the line. Also last year, The Government raised taxes twice, for everyone. this includes companies like oil companies, transportation, Gas Station and well everyone. This gets passed on down the line. Now at the pumps, the minimum wage went up and who hires minimum wage workers? Gas Stations? Well thier wages went up so now they have to recoop the lost so they raise prices. At the nozzle, you have Local taxes, State Taxes and once again Federal Taxes. Most of the money spent at the fuel pump is mainly in taxes and companies trying to recoop thier cost and trying to make a profit. Think of this, Last year Exxon alone paid over $30 Billion in Taxes. Then the government adds taxes on to fuel all the way down the line. If you would get the Government out of the way and allow Drilling in places like Gulf Cost And Alaska and uncap the oil wells that were capped, reduce the taxes on oil companies and get rid of minimum wage and get rid off most of the Taxes at the pumps you could be looking at only paying around $1.50 a gallon. OH, by the way. In the House and Senate right now, there is a bill going to be voted on if not already, to have another .50 cent increase tax on fuel at the pumps. Question: So who is responsible for the High Fuel Prices? Answear: The Government Oh, One last thing. When the Government increased the taxes on oil companies in the United States by $19 Billion Dollars the Government gave a tax brake to a Forgien Oil Nation. Who you ask? Answer: Venezuela. (you know the one the government took over all the oil companies and called our president the Devil.) So, now you do the math and think about who we should take care of. Foriegn nations or Our own Country of the Free?
