Rest in peace, Jake. You were and always will be my best friend. I've never had a better companion. You weren't just any dog, you were something special. I always thought you were so full of life and energy and that your dog body just couldn't hold it all in. You always had a place in my heart and you always knew when to give me your paw or lean on me.... You always used to walk me to my room before bed, and wait until I was lying in bed before going back to your own sleeping place. You used to run with me and go way ahead, but you would look over your shoulder as if to say, 'I could beat you but I'm going to wait'. That's just the kind of dog you were, the best kind.
I'm really sorry I couldn't be there for you to say goodbye and give you a hug when you died. I miss you and love you so much. Goodbye bud :'(
