Even without secrets it seems there's always something to hide
Or rather something that someone thinks you have hidden
Tailoring a story to fit based on what you think is real
Makes it much easier to say goodbye and good riddance

Passing judgments from your big house made of glass
Such a mess made of what you thought were affections
Acting upon assumptions instead of asking for the truth
Your windows like mirrors with disregarded reflections

At first glance you think you've got it all figured out
Looking with your eyes but only seeing what's exposed
The image transforming to mold thoughts made in haste
A false reality born of only what you think you know

This idea of certainty you've presented is lacking
There was no secret, and there was definitely no lie
But when your heart is blind and your mind is made up
Sometimes it's just easier to say good riddance and goodbye
